Year 6 enjoyed a wonderfully sunny residental trip with @uksasailing on the Isle of Wight this week, testing their courage as they took to the water on kayaks, windsurfers and even tightropes! They showed ambition, worked together as a group and shared many joyful moments which will be memories to treasure. Well done Year 6 for displaying so many of our school values!
A wonderful day was had by our Year 3-6 pupils, who joined thousands of children from around the country, to take part in today`s thrilling @minilondonmarathon. Congratulations to them all on completing the course, and for representing our school values of ambition, courage and joy so well. We`re very proud of you all!

Pupils have been celebrating British Science Week by being curious about the science of making bubbles! Lots of fun experimentation took place in and out of the classroom as pupils became master bubble creators, discovering how to make different shaped and sized bubbles, bubbles within bubbles, giant bubble domes and even a cubed shaped bubble!

Blackheath Prep was transformed into a festive wonderland for the PTFA Christmas Fair this weekend! A special visit from Father Christmas, magic shows, games, live music, author workshops and sing-offs made for a wonderful event. Thank you to the hard-working PTFA, and to all the parents, pupils and staff who helped make the fair such a success!
To round off their week, pupils proudly showed their parents the class learning and projects which they have worked so hard on over this term at our Windows Into Learning parents` morning.
Pupils, parents, neighbours and staff marked Armistice Day at a special Remembrance community assembly in school today with music, poetry and art to commemorate those who have sacrificed so much in times of conflict.
We saw plenty of ambition, courage and joy on the field this week at the Inter-House cross country races. Well done to all our young runners who showed such commitment and perseverance on their laps, and to our parents who came to cheer them on. What a great community event!
Over the summer holiday our Nursery classes and outdoor spaces were extensively refurbished to create a wonderfully bright and spacious early years setting with natural materials and a calming woodland colour palette. It`s been a joy to see our youngest pupils settling into their new classes so well, enjoying all the fun activities and making new friends. As the start of the new school year fast approaches, we`re delighted to extend a very warm welcome to Vikki Lloyd who joins us this term as the new Head of Blackheath Prep. Vikki was previously at Eltham College Junior School, joining first as Deputy Head in 2016 before being appointed Head of the Junior School in 2020.

Our Year 1 pupils were very excited to welcome their grandparents and family members into school today for a special assembly and Grandparents` tea party!
We`re very proud of our pupils who took part in the London Mini Marathon today, demonstrating the Blackheath Prep values in spades as they ran the course and crossed the iconic London Marathon finish line on the Mall.

Pupils welcomed their parents and carers into classrooms across school today for our Window Into Learning, an opportunity for pupils to talk about the work they have been doing this term, including some of the wonderful projects for this week`s cross-curricular learning on the theme of Change and Adapt. Thank you to all our parents who attended, it was a great end to the term!
We`re so very proud of our Year 6 who have achieved truly outstanding results in their senior school offers. Through their hard work, ambition, courage and enthusiasm, they secured an amazing 147 offers from the leading schools in London and Kent, including Alleyn`s School, Benenden School, Dulwich College, City of London Schools, Eltham College, JAGS, Sevenoaks School, Whitgift School and the Bexley grammars, amongst others. Over 70% of the year received one or more scholarship offers, with a total of 72 academic, music, sport, art, drama and Head`s Award offers being made.
This is a testament to the exceptional hard work put in by our pupils, and our commitment to an holistic approach to education across all years which enables our pupils to develop a love of learning, discover new passions and truly shine.

Well done to our Year 6 footballers who played brilliantly against our friends at @elthamcollegeuk last week. Our U11 girls were also outstanding in their football competition - undefeated all day and finishing in a fantastic 2nd place, with some incredible teamwork and determination on display! And our U11 Netball girls team played brilliantly at the @iapsuk netball competition last week showing great skill, teamwork and determination!
It was a pleasure to welcome residents from neighbouring Morden College for a Christmas choir performance with our Year 6 pupils. It was joyous event with singers aged 10 to 92 years old joining together in song. Wonderful!
Reception pupils wowed us with their great performances of the Nativity play, packed full of brilliantly delivered song, drama and lots of festive fun. Well done to all our little stars!
We had a wonderful start to the festive season at the PTFA Christmas Fair on Saturday. A fabulous Grotto, live music, games, cake competition, stalls, face painting and much more made for a lovely day for our school community. Special thanks to all the parents, pupils, staff and elves who worked so hard to put on such a great event! 👏👏👏
